Travels With Charlie
Chris spent early years in Colorado, where he developed a love for the outdoors – including a 50-mile camping expedition; deep waters and ancient canyons of Lake Powell; and sailing out of Sea Base swimming in living corals and barracuda in the Florida Keys. Always athletic, he played soccer from an early age, learned Taekwondo martial arts and played football throughout high school.
Originally, Chris planned to pursue his interest in veterinary medicine and worked as a vet’s assistant, including summers where the clientele included Emus and Alpacas. But starting high school he realized that his true love lay with stories and storytelling.
He made his acting debut in Denver as a Hitler youth in The Merchant of Auschwitz performed by The Lida Project, a multimedia arts collective with emphasis on live performance. This production was selected as The Best Experimental / Environmental Production of 1999 and received a Denver Drama Critics Circle Award.
Chris was then accepted to attend the Denver School of the Arts for his senior year, where he played the lead in “Marat/Sade.” On graduation, he won admission to New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and Atlantic Acting School. His first five years in New York City, Chris lived in the heart of Greenwich Village on Bleecker Street above the Bitter End and relished the opportunity to observe and absorb all the great energy the City has to offer. He auditioned and won admission to the course in Shakespearean performance at the renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, then later studied film and television performance at the Penny Templeton Studio.
Other than acting, Chris loves to snowboard. He is a swimmer in summer, a year-round “gym rat” and a dedicated movie buff. Chris is a certified personal trainer and adventurous traveler.
