Christopher Hale leads as the Duke in Shakespeare’s darkest comedy Measure for Measure playing July 30 through August 8 at Theater 3 @ Times Square. Lawyers, Whores and Beheadings: the play is brought up-to-date and set in a 1990′s law office bristling with affirmative action and power politics. “I play the Duke as a District Attorney,” says Hale. “When I take a leave of absence into the underworld and leave my cruel deputy in charge, the audience watches me orchestrate lies, sex, power. It’s a juicy role about the back alleys of the human heart.” Hale is no stranger to Shakespeare, having performed at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He performs here for Big Rodent on the stage at Theater 3@Times Square.
Christopher Hale, leading as Duke Vincentio in Shakespeare's darkest comedy, will return to the city disguised as a Friar. But first he will play both false and true.
